Hey guys/gals

I'm new to this forum and would like to know if someone here can help me to identify this strat that I got given.

I have looked and looked on the net but can't find anything out about this thing, apparently the electronics in the guitar are fender technology and the fact that it has a locking nut kinda throws me!

The neck is maple , and I compared the weight of the guitar to a normal fender strat and this one is heavier.

So i thought id leave a message here to see if anyone can help

As you can see , the logo has been removed from the headstock which makes it even harder to find.

Looks like a Marlin Sidewinder to me.
Are you in the UK? If so, then I'm 100% certain it is. Marlin were welsh made budget guitars that came about in the 80's.
The trem, trussrod, locking nut, tuners and allen key retainer all match.

Email your serial number to

They will ail you back with whatever information they have

Any idea of what sort of price these things go for today? I dont use it at all , I play in a metal band and own several Schecters and Dean guitars so this thing is of no use to me.

Between £30-£50. If you can find someone who wants one. I had one in the 80's. Swapped a Tokai tele to get it. Also I was given one recently as payment for some fretwork I did. I was wholly unimpressed. The paint made the bonfire burn a pretty colour.

Sorry to come across so negative but they were pretty terrible things. It looks like yours has a Bill Lawrence pickup in the bridge position. Get that out and sell it seperately, it's worth more than the guitar. Also the locking nut section is quite rare and usefull to people wishing to put floyd rose trems on strats.

Thanks for the info

I have been informed today from the previous owner that the old logo on the head stock was "Ninja Nighthawk"

Does this ring any bells?
