Does anyone know approximately how many AIMM (Association of Music Merchants) strats are made each year? I have one from 2000 and cannot find any information on it other than the standard info Fender provides. I’ve contacted the AIMM and my local AIMM dealer, but they do not have this information. Additionally, the strat I have is made in America and is translucent emerald green.

Thanks!

Hello BIGEJ2,
I've got one too, or so I've been told as I bought it used.
Mine doesn't have made in USA on the headstock just
Fender stratocaster in chrome letters and a serial # on the
back. Seems just like any other American Ash Deluxe but
the color is neat. I'm at least the 3rd owner, no.2 told me
it was an AIMM guitar and not available to the public. I took
it with grain of salt. Hope you can find out more.
Best of luck.

Thanks orvilleowner. Out of these 250, do you know the breakout? (strats, teles, jazz and P basses?)

Mr. Bill - the color is awesome - the translucent emerald green sure looks hot. I've seen strats on ebay advertised as that color, but the pictures don't show off the very vivid color mine has.

Thanks again guys.

You asked about strats: "Does anyone know approximately how many AIMM (Association of Music Merchants) strats are made each year?"

So that's what I answered, based on the number of AIMM "5760 Strats" that were reportedly made last year.

The number could very well differ from year to year, special model to special model, depending on how many the merchants want. (Just like the FSRs they do.)

Hey BIGEJ2,
I just removed the rear spring cover and at the bottom
of the pocket in magic marker is the #70. I wonder
could this mean anything? If you get a chance pop off
your cover and let us know.
Cheers.

Is there any kind of markings that determine that a guitar is one of the AIMM models? There's a guy on Ebay trying to sell a guitar he says is an AIMM strat, but it just has a regular MIM serial number and no other markings other than standard MIM strat stuff. It is a Pewter color like the Eric CLapton model. I wonder if he didn't take a MIM neck and a Eric Clapton body and put them together to try to get a higher amount for a guitar than it's worth. What do the AIMM sell for when found? He wants $589 for this one.

Hello Randog7275,

I saw that guitar on Ebay nice looking but at the
end of the day it's still a mexican. I paid only a
little more and got a American Ash Deluxe.
That being said if you like it.

Cheers.

There are no numbers on the inside of the back plate. From what I understand, they only made American AIMM strats for one year. All of the others are MIM. The only true way of knowing if it truly an AIMM is to get the serial number and call Fender's customer service line. I was very skeptical when I bought mine because it is so different, but so far it was one best things I've bought in a long time.
