Hi there, I've been looking for some info on this beautiful Strat I have and figured where better than the Fender board? I have this Surf green, mint condition Strat sitting in my closet for the past 20 years. I pull it out 2 days ago and decide to start trying to figure out what it is. I went down to the highest respected guitar shop in town who also specializes in vintage guitars, and had them pull the neck off. It's dated 11-06-1985 which from what I read the earliest Corona date known is 11-01-85. It's all original, I would say 9 out of 10 in condition, original case with the orange shag which is also in mint condition. I have pictures, including the neck date, if that matters to helping figure this guitar out. Also it has the serial of V 012. Is this rare? Sought after? Worth anything more than the usual 1-2k? This thing is in immaculate condition and has past the 25 year age limit to actually be considered vintage. A Vintage reissue of a vintage Any and all help is so appreciated. I would love to find this beautiful guitar the right owner, I just want to be prepared and knowledgeable first. I know this would make someone happy and why should it sit in my closet another 20 years? I gave my husband the option of adding it to his collection but he isn't a single coil man and agreed this would make someone else very happy. We are having a hard time finding out more about it since the MIJ is all I pull up. It's HARD to find info on a MIA 85. I saw that! I appreciate it, that's why I replied and said thanks and it is such a coincidence they were on the same board let alone right after another. That's why I wanted to reply and assure people it was a HUGE coincidence we posted about the same guitar.
