Yo Way Cool and friend: Didn't this start out as a simple. no brainer project :?: It's now morphed into one of our typical mod/job pursuits. How about your choice of one of the Squier Classic Vibe guitars and dropping one of EMG's prewired pickguards in it...like the Kirk Hammett. With the right amplification [and you could probably find some 100 watt 'el cheepo' MIC gear to do the job], you ought to be able to blow the dorm windows out. 8)

yep i agree. that one reason ive always hated EMG. they just take that "raw" out of the whole thing i think. i mean some people swear by them though. some of my guitars from the 80's came with EMG's in them. i still have the pups in a box somewhere but those that did the pups have been replaced.

yeah... the sound is alright but the feeling is totally artificial and i bet you could get that sound out of a passive pickup...

just not a fan thats all. i remember back in the 80s when they were really hitting it big.
most folks liked them for about a month lol, they were usually replaced after that.
