Hi all,
I was playing today with my hotcake overdrive pedal for the first time in a while, and I notice up around the 12th fret i was getting a bit of a warble. Was thinking maybe the frets were a bit worn and may have been throwing out the intonation slightly. Im pretty sure that its not stratitis from the pickups beng too close as they're quite low.
Anyway, here are a few shots, i tried to capture the wear as best i could. Note that the light reflecting on the frets seems to be minimising the wear in some photos.
What do you think?

A level/crown/polish job certainly wouldn't hurt. It looks like there's plenty of "meat" left to work with.

It could probably use one, especially if it's bothering you. I usually wait until mine are a little worse, but with what you have there you wouldn't have to take the frets down too far. Like Retroverbial said, there's still plenty of meat on there. :)

Granted, there is some wear there but I don't think its time for a G & P yet. Instead, you might want to try replacing the strings and checking the straightness of the neck.

Bit of a fret polish, perhaps? Nothing like shining them up to make them feel a ton better under the fingers.

Cheers - C
