Can you guess what it is before looking?

I didn't think so...

It's interesting how the *other* Strat sounds so much better!

I knew what you were referring to. Must have consulted with Billy Gibbons. BTW...Paul's first electric guitar was probably the blond Guild Starfire he was playing back in high school. I've been up close and personal with him on that one.

I'll bet you have some 'Tom & Jerry' autographed photos too.

Saw those on the wall of fame in Manny's many years ago.

No autographed pictures but definite memories of being around him back then on a couple of occasions and I have a group photo which includes him when we were out on the street for a walk one afternoon. Art Garfunkel's brother worked in the local supermarket after school with a group of us, and my aunt's weekly card game met in Art's home. So there's more than a passing connection with those two. Their older brother Jules operated a real estate agency in a town near me in NJ when I lived out there years ago. Small worlds get smaller all the time.

I saw a documentary about a guitar maker that made an electric for Paul that was made to be palyed in the "Nashville tuning". It was some unfinished Strat clone with (I think) two pickups.

...OK now I'll go back and see how I did....

ETA: Yeah, that was the documentary I saw. Paul Simon was just a part of it. It was about the maker of the guitar. He made some real cool acoustics in a long (baritone) scale. Carly Simon, Jackson Brown, and David Lindley were also featured.

It was the community of Kew Gardens Hills, in Queens. Most 'authoritative' texts place their coming up in Forest Hills, but no. That was the location and name of our high school. We lived in Kew Gardens Hills, but FH sounds more upscale. :?

I saw the documentary that they took that clip from. It is about the guy who made the guitar. It is a well set up partsocaster and I guess the electronics were done in a way that Paul likes. I don't think the playing (by him) in that clip is going to impress many of us. :?

Style has always been acoustic-folking picking.
