Hi all, just to present you my new guitar:
It's a Custom Shop 57 Stratocaster California Beach Series, finished in Sunset Orange.
Limited edition of 500 items, the Serial Number of mine is BP001
I play in a Pink Floyd cover band, the guitar plays great, and it's my main guitar since I got it.
Here are some pics.
Cheers
Sebastiano

Nice guitar, but honestly I prefer my '57 commemorative edition...

Anyway, a historic curiosity: as far as I remember, tweed cases had RED plush interior, not orange...

Are the cases given with american vintage and custom shop historically accurate?

ehmm I really don't know how accurate is the case plush colour...
I played for many (~20) years different guitars, the last one was a custom strat body with a Fender HM Strat 24 frets neck, EMG Pickups... It was nearly perfect for Pink Floyd playing, till now. This is a dive in the past for me.
I wanted a 57 stratocaster to have the accurate range of sounds of uncle Dave, I tried many American Vintage 57, Custom Shop 69 (Wow!), 66 Stratocaster, and the one I bought.
I was thrilled by the rasp, meanwhile mellow sound of my guitar, and the feeling of the neck, large as a trunk... It force you to play in a different way, more bluesy. And the colour is sooo gorgeous!
So that's it.
I have an All-Digital setup (Eventide), no amplifier, Studio Amplified Speakers, few unused pedals and the Floyd Sound is here however.
I'm really satisfied of my purchase.

At first glance I would've sworn that guitar was "shell pink". Maybe it's just the pictures.

Good lookin' guitar.

Now now boys let's not start a riot, besides the gibsons are heavier so we don't stand a chance.

Anyway that's a nice strat, I do prefer candy tangerine more though.

My guess is he really digs his Japanese Gibson Orville.

Bingo. Give that man a cigar!

I've used this username for quite a few years on various forums, starting on some that lean the Japanese way in order to learn more about "Orville by Gibson" guitars.

However, I am proud to say that I have been a Fenderowner much longer (31 versus 10 years) and quantity-wise (about 3 times as many Fenders as ObGs).

I've only played one Orville LP and it was a pretty damn nice axe.

Yes, the Orville by Gibsons are high-end Japanese "repros."

I have two Les Pauls and one Firebird, all from the very early '90s.

Ten years ago, they were virtually unknown here in the US and inexpensive (even after factoring in shipping from Japan). That isn't the case today, sadly.
