Hmmmm could be tricky with all the SCN grounds going to the back of the volume pot.
I'd give it a try though. See if it makes a difference.

Haven't got mine in the house to check it.

I'll pm you my email address then you can contact me for the Fender PDF files on wiring and that gumf.

I would have to say that my '57AVRI was wired the same way with the ground from the jack not the trem claw. There's an amount of buzzing that goes on regardless of anything around my house. But at venues, it's not there. I would check the house.

yeah, i guess thats a good point that i havent looked at.
the static is what really bothers me, the scns in my deluxe dont hum like that.
now the buzz is there when the gain is 5-6 on the superchamp.
i wonder if sheilding it would help.

Having looked at your picture of the your guitar's guts, I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. That plate which all the pots and the selector switch are fastened to is a most adequate ground and shield for that matter so no ground wire strung to each pot is necessary. Rerouting the claw's ground wire from the jack to the back of the pot accomplished nothing as the jack's ground wire ultimately goes to the back of the pot any way. Shielding is not the answer either as it is chiefly redundant but moreover, superfluous.

I'd be willing to bet that the problem lies primarily with your amp and/or an appliance in your house is causing the line noise.

Thanks Martian , yeah , I'm on the fence on shielding ,
And your right, when I rewired it to the pot it helped
Nothing out.
