Well, just picked up my new American Standard. I wanted a new Strat but wasn't sure which one so I went to the shop and like others have said on here, I thought I'd try some and hopefully my one would present itself and it really did. I was in there over an hour and tried seven different Strats including a few MIM's and an American Special which sounded lovely and had a great neck but I wasn't happy with the colour options or headstock then I picked up this Standard and I found it perfect. The neck is gorgeous (I expected I'd want a rosewood 'board but preferred the maple after trying both), I love the look of it and it sounds amazing.
Here it is, sorry about using the shop's pics!

Thats the problem, its always New Guitar Time. You picked out a nice color, my Deluxe Tele is aged cherry burst and I love it. Good luck and enjoy it.

Thanks guys. There was a definite weight and sound difference with that colour due to the sienna sunburst having a swamp ash body.

Yes. swamp ash can be a heavy sucker!
My FSR Tele is swamp ash and I fear one day to put my back out!
In the mean time, it does "sing" more!
