I have a Squier 51 that I bought for modding. But I loved the look of it so much, I just did some fret and nut work and replaced the pickups with Seymour Duncan AP2 equivalents. Completed the job with some mini grover tuners.

After Fender pulled the range, there were all sorts of rumours that Fender would be making their own version. I thought that it had come to nothing and berated Fender for a missed opportunity.

Delighted therefore to see a Fender 51 in the new Pawn Shop range. I absolutely have to have one. It looks identical to my Squier - they've protected the look directly from that cheaper series - but it now says the F word on the telestyle headstock.

Check them out fellow Strat guys..

I must admit that the blonde one is a thing of real beauty.

The 51 is a nice guitar and glad to see Fender chose to do a model...just wish they would have come out with a two tone sunburst for it...with the white pickguard would be tre cool. IMHO.

Yeah I got a Squier 51 as part of a trade that was pretty rough looking but I just got down painting it and as I was putting it back together I thought it would be cool if I could build one the way I wanted, which would of just been a string thru bridge and a thicker body. And a couple of days later I saw the Fender 51, and I think it has both.
