I got it for Christmas, but I wish it felt like the american Deluxe ones, would getting it set up do that? I LOVE the sound, but it feels a little off, It feels good but not quite as good as some. I guess I dont wanna do it and be dissapointed. Plus I dont know if it'll do any good, because when I bought it it played like a dream, but my parents get it so dang cold and fluxuating in our house that when I got it home it wasn't as good, so now it buzzes quite a bit. Also if they set it up in a decent enviroment wont it just go back onve I get it home? I dunno I wish my parents didn't bring it up tp 70 in the day and drop it down to 60 at night. It's killing me and my little buddy... should I try to do it myself?

sorry I'm a little scatter brained

Get it professionally setup. When you get it home keep it in the case when you are not playing it.

I've replied to someone else tonight with a similar question

I would suggest you get it properly set up, I had some issues with my Strat over the years and it had been tinkered with and adjusted by myself and various people but it was never quite right and I was never 100% happy with it; then one day I was told about a small firm locally who were suppost to be very good so I took it in and left it with them for a few days. When I collected it I was blown away, it was hard to believe it was the same instrument, suddenly the Stat I was about to sell because it was very mediocre was an amazing instrument, it sounded better, played better, the action was lowered right down without any buzz, the intonation was spot on and now I wouldn't part with it for anything. Cost be the grand sum of £20 and that included new strings! So my advice would be to anybody thats got buzz or any issues to have the instrument set up properly, you will not regret it.

Setting up is a skilled job best left to those who know exactly what they are doing, if you start tinkering with it without any knowledge you will almost certainly make it worse not better, I speak from experience on this.

Mine used to slip its tunning a lot especially if using the whammy bar, after a pro setup its spot on now; many times I've taken it out of a nice warm house into a freezing cold car, driven to a gig set up and the tunning is still spot on...whether is 60 or 70 in your house should not make any noticable difference. As to whether it will feel better I've no idea what you mean by that, but a set up should make it a nicer more pleasing instrument all round..

All the best with it.

Hey Joe,
I'm one of those parents. I feel your pain.
I experience this phenomenon but after a few minutes of
warming up things settle down and all is good.
A good pro set up is always a good idea, better if you can
watch it happen that way you'll know what goes on.
Like Chet says, keep it in the case when not in use.
Best of luck.

Okay, here is what might be a dumb question... does it matter if you store the guitar in the case laying horizontially (flat on the ground) or up on it's side?

I've always wondered if this matters.

When you play it take notes on what you like and don't like about it. A professional tech should be able to "dial" it in for you.

Better wait until it's warmer (and these temperature fluctuations stop) to get it set up. Otherwise, you could just be wasting your money.

How's the humidity there? Is it fluctuating as well?

Get the professional set-up. Even most new guitars can become better feeling and more playable with a proper set-up. Keep the guitar inside the case in the room with the most stable temperature when you are not playing.
