Well they paid for it, but Guitar Center was selling it for a steal of a deal. I got a Classic Players 50's strat in sunburst New for $545. It was some kind of big sale thing, HOWEVER it became a better deal because I asked for the floor model, but my parents didnt get that getting one you havent played is a bad idea, so when I got the one that was new in box it had a REALLY bad nut. So we took it back, and I ended up getting the classic players 60s strat in my favorite color sonic blue which wasn't on sale :D .
anyways I really can't believe that deal, It's the best deal I've seen. They sell for $800 usually so 545 is a really good deal. On a side note when I went to pick it up they said they had it in sonic blue which they show as this on musicians friend, but when I looked it turns out that it's not the one in picture, it looks whiter than blue. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ ... sku=512767
But that's not even the same guitar... neither is the one on fender's site... why can't they get the right picture? The one on Fender at least looks similar though, however it has no string tree and looks different.
I wish somebody would get it straight... :?

I got the new `08 American Standard Strat for $600 cheaper than it was suppose to be sold for. The store mismarked it and I took it on the spot. It was the exact one I was looking for, the 3 color sunburst with a maple neck and fret board. Sometimes we get lucky !

i paid $250ish for my 2007 mex strat. I think it was mis marked as a clearance item. I was going to get one of the Squier strat packs to learn, but couldn't pass up the deal since it was the exact guitar i had been dreaming about on GC.com. Electron Blue with Rosewood fret... it was meant to be.

I payed $50 for a mexican strat at a pawn shop just because it had a tiny crack in the body where the joint is.
