As a general rule of thumb, you usually get what you pay for.

That said, they are both nice guitars, but I wouldn't agree that the
FSR is as good as the American Standard. Take both for a test drive
and see what you think. :wink:

Looks like a brand-new David Gilmour "Black Strat" without the 2-way mini toggle switch and shortened tremolo bar. The pickguard is a standard 3-ply black/white/black as opposed to the 1-ply black vinyl of Dave's warhorse.

Why would it feel any different than your standard? Its a standard with some special tinting on the neck and a different decal. Same guitar , just different clothing.
