With all due respect, that is not what I posted. I posted that the people at the guitar shops told me that they don't stock the Highway One anymore because the American SPECIAL is its replacement (I did not say American Standard).

well there are already rumors out that the HW1 is being discontinued. your post when you said they werent stocking it that the special is replacing it, it was very leading to believe that the "rumors" were true.
usually when a store stops stocking something that usually means that the product isnt being carried any more or they are doing away with it altogether.
so i hope you can see where the mistake was made.

I always looked at the in-between positions as the 'quack' positions
but Niki is right about the hum cancelling also.

You could ask many about what 'quack' is and find many different
theorys. Here's mine :

'Quack' happens when two pickups are selected and there is phase cancellation, due to the strings being at different phase points over each pickup.

To maximize phase cancellation, the pickups should be set to be equal volume. Otherwise, one will dominate, minimizing what they have in common, but out of phase. (quack)

Fortunately, this is how I prefer my setup anyway: all pickups at equal volume. Bridge highest, neck lowest.

Clean is best for 'quack'.

Welcome aboard and good luck !!!

I'll definitely try this setup first thing when I get my guitar...sounds exactly like what I would prefer too...thank you so much for the info!!

And thank you for the welcome!!

so they kinda did tell you that the HW1 was being replaced.

Please let me recommend you this. It´s a Made in Japan Stratocaster. Ishibashi Music is very trustable dealer. Direct from Japan. If my wife was into guitars, I would buy this one for her for sure!

(Please read this as having a loving tone as it is how it is meant...with love :D ) Please forgive me as I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but all I was trying to address was the fact that you posted that they told me that the American STANDARD was replacing the HW1, and I did not say that. I said that they told me the American SPECIAL (not the Am. STANDARD, like you claimed I said) was replacing the HW1.

As far as any rumors or what's true and not true concerning the HW1, I have no idea about any of that...just telling y'all what the guitar shop people told me when I asked if there were any in stock that I could try out...it's the reason they gave me as to why they didn't have any HW1s in stock, then said they could order one for me...that's all I know!!

Much love to you, my friend...and to all y'all!!!! :D

EDITING THIS POST TO ADD: After I posted this, I saw that you had posted again and had realized what I was trying to tell you...thank you!

Glad you liked it. When I saw it I thought of your post.

http://www.ishibashi.co.jp/eng/

Here´s their japan website. Contact the dealer on ebay, I´m sure they´ll answer your questions with care.

And please post yourself a picture holding "her" when "she" arrives. :)

i think the wood grain looks pretty cool on that pink one.
i wonder if thats one of the special runs they did like the pink amps.
it was a charity or something, an awareness for the eye disease
JJ French's daughter has i believe it was. several companies got together and did that.
i bet those pink amps and guitars will be worth a little something some day. if im correct, its the first time companies got together an did something like this.

Hello and welcome JabbasSweetie! If price is not an issue, you should check out the Bonnie Raitt Signature Strat. The neck is smaller and may be more comfortable. Personally, this guitar looks great, and it is on sale on ebay. :D

I so wish price was not an issue because, if it wasn't, I would seriously consider buying this guitar...it's a great guitar and so beautiful...ah well, I can dream...thank you so much, king...and thanks for the welcome!!

JS,

I have aHWY 1 which started out as a SSS. I cannot stand the Atomic humbuckers on the AS or HWY 1. I guess it really depends on what type of music you play. I have a Dimarzio SD in the bridge now. Great for hard rock and metal.

BTW I heard from my tech that the HWY 1 series is being discontinued so if you really want one, now is the time. If money is an issue, the Blacktop or Classic Vibe (Squier) are both excellent guitars to check out.

Thanks so much for the info!! I should get the HW1 first then (before the AmSt)...I'd hate to wait on getting it, then it's discontinued, and I never get to have one. Think I'm gonna get it SSS...is the HW1 SSS routed just SSS or is it routed to accomodate HSS?
