guys my strat project is going well i already got the cash for the guitar i'm modding a strat knockoff but it got me thinking should i probably get a squier? i mean squier is squier but this knockoff has quite a package (wilkinson pickups and a finished neck) plus it has a beautiful blue finish and comes with a case for 115 euros and the company helps make fender guitars and i find it to be a pretty exact replica (except for some screws and the neck pocket size but i can solve everything)... what do you guys think of the knockoff?

At the end of the day it's not a Strat it's a knockoff.
Don't mean any disrespect just not a fan of the knockoff and that's just not regarding guitars.

i understand but i can't find a single guitar on squier that i'd buy and this makes me wanna play it when i'm done with it plus i don't think i'd enjoy experimenting on a squier...
the only squier i have ever liked is one i already have lol

Hey it's all about preference mate. I don't particlarly like the bullett squiers they have on that site. But you say you are modding the one you get so the pickups and stuff that come with it are a bit insignificant aren't they?
I generally say if you are modding, the cheaper the guitar the better (depending how much you are spending on the mod but that raises arguments I don't necessarily want to start here.....)
Some 'knockoff's are great guitars andd you can have great fun modding them, some don't work so well. I got a tele and an LP copy that just ended up being firewood cos what I thought was subtle differences from the models I was aiming for ended up giving me severe headaches.
So if you like it and it makes you want to play as you suggest go for it...........just post the pics when you're done.

of course :) i've been doing research on this for months i've had the pickup for a year the only things i have do do are for the new pickguard i need to cut the neck pocket cause of the 22nd fret and change the screw holes aside from that it should be as easy as intstalling a bridge pickup lol...

Hey ralfcaetano,

You may want to check my thread in this section of the forum where I rebuilt two strats using a Squier Bullet....... " Stratoparster Build I & II ".

It at the very least may give you some ideas as to direction as far as a rebuild project.

BTW, just because it's a Squier, there is nothing wrong with the materials, they just need a bit of dialing in...

i have nothing against squier... my favorite guitar is a squier... it's just that i cant find one other than that one that attracts me enough to buy... if the tele custom had more finishes or if the jazzmaster looked more like the original i might have had second thoughts but i'm honestly thinking on using the knockoff

Then that is all the reason for choosing which one works for you.
Have fun, if you have questions ask, there are quite a few on this forum with deep knowledge when it comes to compatibility issues and how to resolve the problems...
