I have recently changed from using nickle-plated steel strings to using pure nickle wound strings. Original Bullets on my Strat and 150Rs on my humbucker equipped guitars. All are 10/46s. I really like the smooth, bluesy sound that the pure nickle strings provide and they seem to tune easier and more accurately than nickle-plated strings.

What other pure nickle wound strings in the 10/46 size have you all found to provide a clean, smooth sound? How about longevity? I also have very dry skin so my slides up and down can be noisy. Any pure nickle wound strings quieter than others? Thanks.

Do you use them? Any difference between these and the Eric Johnson Nickle Rockers?

I have these on my strat:

You also then pick up the option of having a wound G-string (my preference)

New guy question.
Can you get pure nickel strings manufactured by Fender?

On my Tele I have "Fender 150R, 10-46, pure nickel wound original 150s", great tone.

I also use "Ernie Ball Power Slinky, 11-48, nickel wound" on my Kramer, great tone, and they last for a long time.

I changed to Rotosound pure nickels from Ernie Ball nickel-wound a few years ago and have never looked back. They're a bit pricier but worth every penny. Warm sound and so smooth! Also they don't seem to need changing that often, which offsets the price difference.

I'm just about to change to pure nickel 10's, I usually use Superbullets 9's. I've always loved those strings, I'll let y'all know how I get on with the pure nickels.
