Greetings,

My new 2010 classic player 50 arrived yesterday. It has the 2 tone sunburst finish.

I was unable to view & handle a classis player model in my local area so I ordered one online from a fender dealer.

My question is regarding the poly finish. If i handle & look over the body in good lighting conditions the finish shows horizontals lines or reflections running the length of the body. You cannot feel the lines as it appears to be below the overcoat.

Is this common for the 2 tone poly finish? I've had a solid color classic series 60 strat that the finish looked normal.

Thanking you in advance, Larry...

Don't worry mate. It's just the joins in your body showing through. Most guitars have at least 3 peices, even really good ones. Enjoy your new Strat dude. :)

let me be a little more clearer.

It's not just at the joins. It's more like looking at an old piece of art where the finish appears cracked. Yet,on the guitar you don't feel it when you run your fingernail over them... Maybe it is just refections over the woodgrain itself? Larry...

I'd still say it's the joint lines but if you can post some pics please.

If it looks like a small raised perfectly straight line, It's the joints where the body wood is glued. If it's sunken in and not so straight, it's just the grain in the wood. Either way, it's nothing at all to be concerned about.
