Hi kenstyle, welcome to the Forum.

I think Japanese Fenders are great! I certainly love mine. :D

And a little tip for any left-handed players who are new to this stuff: look amongst Japanese Fenders for left-handed models. They offer far more models and choice than the MIM or MIA parts of the catalog.

Cheers - C

I have a CIJ '65 re-issue that I love. I've also used Fender-Japan parts to assemble some excellent custom instruments.

I own 2 Japanese models. They are always of high quality. Worth purchasing if the price is right. I wouldn't go over $500 for a used one though, unless it was one of the higher-end 50's or 60's re-issues!

I've got two mid 90s Japanese reissues: the '62 Strat and the '71 Tele Thinline. I had a couple more, but I let them go about ten years ago. Fool!

I currently own 4 mid 80's MIJ Strats. They are fabulous guitars. Mine are of course Left Handed.

Prices on the mid 80's MIJ's has been slowly rising. Prices are ranging from $500- $800 for Left Handed models depending on condition and what model it is.

I couldn't get any guitar in particular to show up on your link. But many of the Japanese Fenders fetch a few grand. I've got some of them and am more than willing to drop that kind of money on a MIJ over a MIA any day of the week. It simply depends on the model, condition, originality and collectability of it.

I have many of them and I always spend the money on these (especially the Ventures models) before I spend it on USA Fenders. Simply better guitars. You really gotta get out more and check out some of their "Real Guitars".

This is my CIJ '65 Strat re-issue......

I paid $500 for it on Ebay a few years back -- simply a fabulous instrument. Better still once I replaced all of the electronics and hardware with US-built stuff.

Here are a few MINT Japanese guitars from my personal collection. First one, the Ventures Strat, was 3 grand, the next few were over 2 grand each and nothing else under 1.5. They all appreciate 8-14% each year and are simpy great axes and collector's pieces. You may not pay this for them, but I gladly do since they are some very serious axes. Enjoy the perfection that are Japanese Fenders.

Yes, these are first year and never been played. You have to pay for things like that.
