Curious. I purchased this guitar in 2010. No case came with it. I was told none were made. Just read an ad and it said case came with it. Anyone know? Love the guitar.

Is it American or Mexican? American made guitars have cases, and Mexican made are more likely to come with a gig bag. None of them come with a plain paper wrapper. You have been conned...

It's an American Strat, 1,400 or so. I feel conned. I'm sending a note to G.C. I'll post if anyone takes responsibilty. Thanks for reply

This used to be a typical GC con job - USA Fenders are supposed to come with a case. Only some MIJ, MIK, and the new Blacktop guitars (which are MIM) don't come with either a case or a gig bag. Most GCs don't do this any more; I guess there are still some unscrupulous ones around.

GC is notorious for separating the guitars and cases, then unless you know the guitar is supposed to come with a particular case they try to slam you for a case at an extra charge. Most of them will eventually get to a guitar + case price that matches other major retailers, but sometimes through their policy you wind up getting an empty case without the accessories package you that comes with the guitar. They do this with Gibson, PRS, and others as well as Fender. It is particularly problematic for a guitar that is supposed to have a Certificate of Authenticity like a Custom Shop Fender or a Gibson Historic guitar.

I may have more bad news for you. Did your this Strat have an actual diamond in the head stock? If not then you don't have an American made "60th Anniversary" model Strat. There is a silver MIM one. I've attached a link to show the specs.

The American version came with a really nice case. I think the MIM one came in a gig bag.
