Can't say exactly what your lines are, but you can rely on your body being 2 or 3 pieces. A one piece would be rare. Especially rare on a painted American Std.

These days Fenders with one-piece bodies are very rare; I believe you can specify a one-piece body as an upcharge on a Custom Shop guitar. Otherwise it's just a fluke to get a one-piece body.

Hi paco-strat,

Yep, I agree with the others, likely a three piece body, which is typical of most modern Strats. The Classic Series 70s Strat with natural finish, among other Strat models, actually had four piece bodies on some, but were matched very well and hard to detect the seams. It sounds like the lines are just where the body pieces are glued together, nothing to worry about. I notice it on the newer 62 reissues very plainly where the pieces join, partly due to the thinner base coat allowing the seem to show more than the older ones with a thicker base coat.

In the past I've seen MIA guitars with as many as 5 pieces in the body.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

For sure it's lines where the different pieces of wood have been joined.

My 2010 Am Standard (Blizzard of Pearl) has a 4 piece body. The joint lines are visible in the paint finish when looked at closely from the right angle. My ash bodied AVRI 57 has a 2 piece body. I'm sure like everyone said, you are seeing the joint lines in the paint.

These days 1 piece mbodys are very on comon, either have a 2-3 piece body or your paint is cracked.

My American Deluxe Strat has a barely visible line dead center below the trem, I was a bit surprised that (a) it's not one piece but more so that (b) I can see it. Still a wonderful instrument, don't get me wrong.

My Strat is Candy Apple Red. I can't see any lines through the finish nor would I care if I could. It makes zero difference in the quality of the guitar.
