hello,i'm i the middle of my first custom build,,i have a set of 2010 amer std controls i bought from reliablefender.my question is about the solder left on the pot were the wires were cut.do i need to clean that off,or can i solder to it? if so how would i clean it off?thanks

Not necessary to clean it off, and yes, you can solder wires to the same spot where solder already is.

Correct. If you solder to any extent you should have a solder sucker and de-soldering wick among your array of tools, as well as a tin of rosin flux.
