Hello friends! Alot of young kids think that you have to have a Jackson, Ibanez, or some other wierd shaped guitar to play metal! Nonsense, I play hard rock / metal stuff in my solo stuff, and band! I use an American Deluxe, completely stock! I think Fender makes the best machines for whatever tone your looking for. Im gonna post a few clips to solo stuff, and my band.

This some cover stuff Ive done for fun! Click on 720p for High Quality Audio!

This was something silly I did for fun, but it has some Heavy Fender Tone!

The Goonies, Shred style!

This is my band Black Tora, its old school metal! We'll be playing with the Crue, Whitesnake, Black Label, and more at Rocklahoma 2011

Take care friends. Hope you dig the tones!

Fender produced USA Strats and Showmasters with humbuckers and original Floyd Rose tremolos over the years, these guitars were designed explicitly with metal guitarists in mind.

Hey Dave, I did love it. Anything available on Itunes or any of that?
What amp you using?
Yes, Fender for metal. All that early Motorhead stuff was a strat, a ric' bass and a set of drums.

Some people think its all about humbuckers and mid scoop.
Poppycock I say. Get the mids up and have a load of punch on the rhythm sound. Heavy as a pair of satans lead lined underpants.

Cool music Dave. That song has a very Judas Priest type of sound. I dig it.

I agree that Fenders can be just as good for metal as any other guitar. Hell, my buddy has a modded Squier that sounds MASSIVE. One of the best sounding guitars I've ever heard.

I mostly play thrash and death metal and I gotta say... Playing that music with a strat just looks weird. Haha. For brutal music, I much prefer a cool Randy Rhoads style V or Explorer. It's purely visual... Those dynamic body shapes just seem more appropriate for metal- Unless you're playing Priest, Maiden, or Crue type stuff.

So for me, Strats sound great for everything, but look best for the non-brutal. (I play both! :D )

Thanks dudes! I appreciate the kind words!

@ Waycooljr - I totally agree about the 80's crates, heck even the early 90's were cool.

@ Chromeface - Right on bro, I used to have the Floyd Rose Classic Strat (American) a few years back. Great guitar. I remember some years ago, they made those Showmasters. A gray one, and a black one. HSS, HH. Pretty sweet looking. Id like to get one on ebay in the future.

@Nikininja - Thanks dude, We have our first album. It was produced by Paul Shortino (Rough Cutt, Quiet Riot) on Itunes, but I'll tell you a secret, all of our tunes are available for free download @ www.reverbnation.com/blacktora and my little off the wall solo stuff is downlaodable @ www.reverbnation.com/razordaveinc Your totally right about Motorhead! I also agree with the over scooped mids. Crank em! Especially live!

@Turnmeto11 - Ha, yea the crazy shapes suit playing extreme stuff. Judas Priest is one of my favs. Rock on bro!

Hey Dave thanks. I'll take your stuff as a freebie, but I insist on paying for the bands album. Trust me mate, stay away from giving out freebies. Keep your band operating at as near in the black (zero debt) as you possibly can.
Debt is the one stress a band don't need in this day and age.

Hey, don't forget about Gallien Kruger. Their SS amps ROCK, 'Maiden used them exclusively on the 'Somewhere in Time' and 'Seventh Son of a Seventh Son' albums, which are my #1 and #2 favorite 'Maiden albums of all time (my #3 would be 'Powerslave').

I currently own a SS Crate GLX212 and love it, and just entered the world of tubes with a Blackstar HT-5 ministack a few months ago.

...And yes, strats can 'do metal' just fine... 8)

sweet guitar and i do remember those 2x12 crates well.

heavy metal is an attitude. you can get an attitude, blues, metal, or whatever on any guitar. even the wimpy acoustics.

Blasphemy! Powerslave will always be #1. Then Number of the Beast. :P
