Hello all,

At my local guitar shop, I found a CBS-era 78' - 82' Strat, SN S9*****, and, if it weren't $1599, I'd buy it (considered putting it on a very long lay-a-way). So I've resolved to look for a replacement neck that is similar as I am intending to build a partscaster over the summer and the neck on this guitar is a great starting point. I need some advice on neck buying, such as where I should buy from, what to watch out for, etc. Here is someone from eBay selling one:

Does anyone have experience buying necks from this person? If this is a bad idea ($100 isn't a BIG loss), what are some other reliable yet cheap resource for replacement licensed necks? I'm looking for a thicker, Rosewood neck (listening to a lot of Television) that feels similar to my 50's stye maple neck. Also, I'm looking for the nice, glossy finish.

This may go on a Fender Deluxe Fat Strat (if I can trade with a friend for my Danelectro) or a Fernandes MIJ Strat, possibly equipped with lipsticks.

Thanks for the help!

Ryan
