Post subject: HR 57 strat has static,but on the neck

my hr 57 has static when i run my hand along the neck.
but its responsive and reacts to volume.

i know its been covered before,but... :?

i mean, when you turn the volume up the static sounds louder.

It may very well be just that, static. Someone suggested before on this topic that certain clothing, footwear and carpeting combinations produced static as you've described. Polyester clothing is more conducive to static than cotton is. I've noticed static sounds like that before, sometimes it's worse, and other times no static at all. It also seems more of a problem in winter with the dry air. :idea:
