I've seen some Jackson/Charvel guitars (including the Phil Collen signature PC-1) having a Sustainiac infinite-sustain device fitted.

In fact, the Sustainer driver is a stacked-size neck humbucker hooked on an 18V active circuit and a pair of 3-way toggle switches for bypass, blend, fundamental and harmonic modes.

First developed by Fernandes and refined by Hamer, Kramer and Jackson, the Sustainiac creates controllable sustain of any single or group of notes in the instrument’s sound range.

I never seen Fender/Squier Strats with Sustainiac/Sustainer drivers. I wonder if the device itself would fit on a Strat body routed for HSH or HHH (not to mention the extra rout for the PCB!).

Yep, either the Fernandes or the Sustainiac will work but, the both require Hot output bridge pickups to feed the sustainer driver (that usually replaces the neck pickup).

The Sustainiac will probably go in to a Strat without routing as the PCB is much smaller and doesn't have the switches pre-mounted so push pull pots can be used to maintain standard Strat looks

Fernandes Sustainer Kit however will require routing....

...As the PCB is Ma-hussive! :D

Hope this Helps

I think you can't go wrong with a hot bridge humbucker such as the Enforcer, Diamondback and DH-1 Atomic to feed the Sustainiac driver. Not sure if these Fender humbuckers are compatible.

I believe a push-pull pot can function as a rotary switch for each of the three sustainer modes.
