i don't hear too much strat bashing... i don't see why there is, they are versatile guitars.... i don't like to bash anything because guitars are good for different styles and price ranges

I haven't heard anything either. I'm only on this forum

Also, you get the "Strats don't cut through" line even from some dealers.

Strats don't cut through? I thought the high nasally sound that most Strat bashers refer to actually HELPS it to cut through a mix. Now, looking for a sound that doesn't cut through, I was watching a mediocre band in a local dive bar the other night, and the one guitarist was playing a Tele, and that just didn't make it up front at all.

Frankly the most bashing I have read has been on Tele Forums (and from some self-styled Tele players).

The people who bash Strats are just jealous thats all. I wouldn t take it seriously, you know what you have so enjoy playing it and let the rest wish they had one too.

I have a Gibson,a Taylor and a Fender Strat deluxe, they are ALL beautiful in their own way and lend themselves to differing types of music. Suffice to say a musical instrument should never be knocked, but cherished.

I could see where the bashing might be caused by some strats that were produced just after CBS started making all the quality cuts way back when.

I inherited a strat that had a neck pocket that was so sloppy, if the neck bolts weren't tight enough, the neck would shift up or down relative to the body to the point that the 1st or 6th string would be off the neck in the upper registers!

I sold it for cheap... I should have kept that one too. (Along with the 65 rosewood tele and the 69 maple Tele bass)

The only $@!&* I have with my new strats (2002 to 2005) is that the frets are always coated with some sort of lacquer or varnish; very difficult to remove without marring the neck!

I love how Stevie Ray could absolutely murder his Strat, and he was still able to pick it up and play.

it was funny, once this guy who claimed he was an extreme iron maiden fan was bashing my strat (he was an ibanez player). It was quite amusing (for those who don't know, IM all use strats and teles).

My strat is HSS, and with that combination it is extremely versatile, being able to get good distortion and metal tone, while still being good for blues and rock with the middle and neck p-ups.
