I have a 89 or 90 strat plus, can't remember what year I bought it. It was already setup when I bought it and I have never ever set it up again. I am thinking about getting it setup professionally and I would like to try setting it up with .10's. It has the Wilkinson rollernut the one that is not split. Does this nut take .10's?

Yes, it does. I have several Pluses with the Wilkenson, and 10s are my choice strings.

Thanks for the reply. I have noticed that when I play certain chords some of the strings sound a little sharp. I believe this is caused by the lighter gauge strings in combination with the medium jumbo frets. I'm hoping by going to a little heavier gauge string I can eliminate the problem.

Sounds like a simple intonation problem. Remember that ALL Fenders come with 9's on them from the factory and that is what they are set up for. Your trem will need to be set up again as will your intonation when you switch gauges, but as I said, the intonation simply sounds as if it's out already.

Thanks for the reply. The reason I was thinking it might be a string gauge problem is because the problem mainly occurs when I am playing a root 5 ninth chord. I seem to be putting more pressure on the third string and it is going sharp.
As far as adjusting the tremolo will the hipshot tremsetter need to be adjusted as well? I am worried about this adjustment because I don't know if the tech will be familiar with it.
I'll check the intonation first and if that's the problem I'll leave the 9's on because this guitar really stays in tune.
