Whats the difference between the Fender Schaller straplock and the std Schaller straplock? Does the Fender version have Fender logo or name on them? What about the size of the parts themselves including the size of the screw that comes with it? Would a strap with std Schaller attached fit onto the Fender Schaller post and vice-versa?

Have std Schaller on my G&L and considering getting the Fender version for my new strat.

There's not difference in the way it works, but the Fender Schaller strap locks I ordered for my girlfriend's birthday came with screws that actually held it in. I tried to give her my old ones because she got a 2005 MIM Standard Strat(arctic white) with no strap buttons for $80(I KNOW RIGHT?!?! Just cause she's cute -___-) hehe but the screws it came with were too small.

Other than the screws, there was really nothing significantly different between the too.

I personally have switch to Dunlop Strap Locks because of the way they are designed. No more constant tightening of that strap retainer nut.

Hey good idea!! Too late though haha. All my strats have dunlops on them now. (Which makes me wonder why I didn't get my girl friend dunlops haha)

I also didn't like the way the button and the strat lock would rub against each other. Over a period of 8 months, the lock developed a REALLY deep groove where the two parts were rubbing against each other.

OH! Yeah haha. It's because John Mayer uses schaller strap locks (as seen on his pinkpop 2010 performances)

She's obsessed with Mr. Mayer haha
I can't say anything because that was my fault! XD

I have the "Fender" Schaller straplocks on my am deluxe and just recently purchased the more expensive "Schaller" straplocks for my PRS. Same exact thing...

I have owned both the Fender Schaller and Schaller strap locks. No significant difference between them. Now I only use the Dunlop Double locking strap locks, they just work better for me.

i dont like any strap locks that you push the button to release them. a simple bump in the right spot and your guitar hits the floor.

FYI

Actually you don't push the button on Schallers you have to pull the button out against spring pressure so that's not an issue with the Schaller brand.
