I returned my Strat for a Gibson ES-339. I love Strats, but after playing this guitar, I just couldn't not get it.

Please forgive me... :(

Just out of curiosity...
What kind of Strat was it and how long did you have it?

The 339 is a beautiful guitar...

If there was a guitar I'd sacrifice one of my Strats for, it would be the Gibson ES339.

The '339 is a superb instrument, especially if you can't get into the arguably much more cumbersome '335. Sweet, sophisticated and very flexible with airy tones you won't find in a Strat. I'm certainly not criticising you.

But the Strat is still the ultimate of course!

That is fine, play what works for you.

But given the price of Gibson, you not only returned your Strat, but a sizable portion of your wallet.

I would love to have an 336 or 339 or a Gibson LP but cannot force myself to go that route, I can buy 3 or 4 MIA strats for cost of one of those Gibson.
