Hey all!

Probably a dumb question, but whatever- I'm a noob. Ha.

So I just finished wiring my HH Strat style with new GFS pickups. The 3 way selector, volume, and tone knob al seem to be working correctly except for one thing. It buzzes like all hell! But when I touch one of the metal parts, the buzz goes away.

Is this a grounding issue or something like that? If need be, I can make a diagram of the way I wired it. Do I need to do that so maybe someone would be able to tell me where I messed it up? lol.

Please help me make my guitar work :!: :P

Did you have a ground wire from under the bridge or from the spring claw? Also I like end up with all the ground wires to the volume pot. Some say you can get a ground loop. Some agree some dont. Good Luck

And here is a breakdown of GFS pickup wires. Idk if it is needed, but just in case.

It looks like that diagram is the exact same thing I did, except the switch is wired differently. If I wire my guitar like that diagram, should it fix the issue?

Air buzz??

I tried re-soldering all of the ground connections. Same problem. Please tell me there is a simple fix before I rewire the entire thing from scratch. I want to play this thing so bad.

I got the same problem too!

Usually what I do though it have a metal string touching the bridge, and wrap the same string once or twice around my wrist so it doesn't come off, and the hum is gone!

Aesthetically, it's not the best solution, but cost wise, it's cheap as I used an old guitar string! :D

I have the same exact issue after wiring SSS using the acme vintage diagram. I noticed that if I touch the hot jack wire the buzz gets louder. Absolutely no idea why it buzzes when it shouldn't.

You might have the hot and ground mixed up.Take off the knob cap and see if that buzzes when touched.Touch other metal parts too to see if they buzz .

Sorry to hear that Ophie. I rewired mine using the Seymour Duncan diagram and I still have the exact same problem. Now I'm really confused...
