I have a Strat I bought many [MANY!] years ago that a friend just asked me to sell, I bought it for around $400 sometime around 92' I think. Problem is I can't find anything like it to guess it's value [or lack thereof!] on...

Serial Number E509439 [Japanese - I found out that much!]
3 pickups, 2 singles + a humbucker in the bridge which is tapped
volume & tone only, type II tremolo [the one without the fine adjusting screws on the bridge itself] rosewood fretboard & maple neck. The serial is on the headstock only nothing on the back plate and no access plate for the tremolo [which apparently does not need one] jack is on the side of the body, not on top.... and everything is black, headstock, body & pick guard. ....

so anyone have any ideas? Can I sell it to him for like $200 is that fair? or would I be kicking myself - or possibly even ripping him off??

MIJ Contemporary Series from 1985/86. This would be from right after FMIC acquired the company from CBS - there was no USA factory from the date the sale went through (sometime in February 1985) until FMIC got their original factory in Corona open in 1986.

following a link off that page it appears to be a Contemporary "Version 3" [link here - under "Japanese" http://www.strat-central.com/]

this guy says it's rare cause everything busts on it/gets lost .... the description is spot on & I have all the parts - nothing is broken...

No idea of value - wonder if rare means 'no demand' or just broken???

I think it's fair to say that it's worth much more than $200.

Have you checked ebay? I'm sure you could get closer to $500 for it.
