I know it's a silly little thing to most but I'm teaching myself to play Sweet Home Alabama and man it sounds great on my Strat.
I'm legally blind so conventional methods of learning don't work for me but I must say that there are some really good instructional videos on tube and I've found this guy by the name of Marty Scwartz who I've found to be really good.
With his step by step instructions I've been able to pick up most of the song in a few short hours.
I know I'm not picking up any practical theroy this way but dam I love the way my strat sounds when there is actual music coming out of it that you are able to recognise.
It keeps me going and I know I'm hooked for life.
I wish I hadn't waited so long to begin this journey, I let my vision issue prevent me from enjoying this sooner in life.

Hey Oskar, are you eastern or western Canadian? I think that Marty was previously with the nextlevelguitar.com site but he switched at some point to his own business, but the guy is cool. I actually learned a thing or two watching his videos. Well now that you're hooked, don't look back and take a giant leap forward. :)

Hey Claude
I'm in Ontario.
I like Marty and his Spey by step instruction.
in the almost four weeks I've had my Strats I've picked up Walk the line, Smoke on the water and now Sweet home Alabama.
I find him very informative and enjoyable to watch.

Hey man...Sweet Home Alabama was made to be played on a Strat....I really don't care for it anymore after playing it forever onstage and being forced to sing it,but it seems like every once in a few days I'll put the Strat switch in that bridge/middle position and let those chords just ring out,no matter who says what, those chords do sound great on that Strat.

Marty is quite good. He did do some videos with nextlevelguitar.com and also with guitarjamz.com. I've watched many of his videos. Also, he has great taste in hats.
