I have a couple of year old American Deluxe Strat that is mostly unused. It was setup professionally according to the prior owner. It sounds pretty good except for some string buzz when playing acoustically. It can't be heard through the amp which is good, but when i play acoustically I can hear it. I have played around with the setup (i changed the strings, adjusted the truss and saddles. It happens mostly with powerchords played at the 5th 7th and 9th frets on the Big E and A strings. It could be a problem with me (and how i play) and not the guitar but i am interested in having someone take a look at it.

Thanks.

If it only ´buzzes´when unplugged, then its not a buzz. Its rattles and its normal behavior. Dont ever mind getting rid of it cause your action will be too high before it goes away. Stratocasters are sensitive guitars, not for heavy metal players. Enjoy yours.

It wouldn't be worth your while and frankly would be a waste of money,as long as the buzz doesn't come through the amplified signal, don't sweat it.I've had the same buzz you describe but learned to live with it by not pounding the strings when I play unplugged.
