Isn't it funny that some people can make heaven on the junkiest guitars and others can make garbage from the most expensive.

Look at SRV: I wouldn't have touched his Strat unless I was wearing latex gloves after all the sweat and cr@p that destroyed the finish and just about everything else, but, man, could he play! And he could play just like Clapton or Hendrix or anyone without blinking an eye just for fun, all on that rotted-out guitar. Clapton's "Blackie" was a Frankenstein he put together from bits and pieces he picked up over the years.

Blackie was parts of 3 Strats bought in Nashville,TN. at the Sho-Bud store in 1970,he bought 6 and gave Pete Townsend,George Harrison and Steve Winwood the others.
They were hanging in the back selling for around $100/200 apiece.

The replica that slash played was a 1959 les paul made by a fellow named Kris Derrig. The guitar was a one off so it was not even produced by a company. I find it rather interesting that a company such as gibson would pay tribute to a copy or replica of their own guitar by recreating it as a Gibson Slash signature series, in essence they are honouring a replica.

Check out these links...

http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-USA/Slash-Appetite-Les-Paul/Specs.aspx

The first link describes and shows the replica 59 Les Paul that Slash owns.
The second link shows Gibson's recreation of Slash's replica 59 Les Paul.

Marketing hype and profits trump all other considerations.

I play an all stock 09 sunburst mim strat but i plan on changing the pickups to seymour duncan ssl-1's within the next year. So it will not be stock for too much longer. When i first got it there were two dings where my arm goes but i dont feel them when I play. Now there is dings all over the back from my belt and some where I have missed the input jack. And this is only after a little less than a month. Just from every day use.

The Red one next to the red strat is an Agile AL-3100, it's an absolutely amazing guitar. ... The lemondrop next to it is also an Xaviere XV-599.

Thanks for the info. Do you know where they are made? China, South Korea, or ??

The agiles are made in Korea and the Xavieres are made in China.
