Hello everyone. I'm pretty sure I've decided to sell my AVRI '57. If I pack it in its case, then put it in the box it came in, then wrap some type of blanket around it, then package it in another box with styrofoam shipping peanuts, will it be safe from the temperatures it MAY be exposed to during shipping? I fear if it goes to someone up North, it may arrive at it's new home with finish checking. This could be a problem.

Does anyone have experience with shipping nitro finished guitars in Winter?

That is probably better wrapping than Fender used when it shipped the guitar out originally. I wouldn't worry about it. My Ibanez came naked in a box within a box and sat on my front porch for about 5 hours in sub-20 degree F weather. Granted, it is finished in polyurethane but I don't know what you could do better unless you carried it to its new home in your heated car.
