My uncle has lots of guitars, but his best is the 74' strat. He dosent know how much its worth, its in great condition and made in the usa. Does anyone know how much its worth?

Have your uncle check out www.gbase.com where various music shops sell vintage guitars. He'd get some idea of the market there.

$3K-ish seems about right; gbase has them as low as $2,400 and as high as $5K. Somehow I don't think the $5K ones are selling in the current economy.

Now if you go back to even a late 60s model then you can push closer to $8K; mid-60s will be over $10K these days.

I got my 74 last year for about 2500. It didn't have original electronics though (nice custom shop 54 pickups though) and it's a bit beat, but nicely so. Great guitar, it's my #1 now.
