I am currently using

DR 11-50 on both of my strats.

A bit more expensive than D'Addario, GHS and Ernie Ball (well, here in Germany at my local music store) but very reliable and long lasting and...sweet tone !

I have no brand loyalty when it comes to strings.

None.

Right now I'm up to .011 gauge Ernie Balls. (I dropped my tuning down to E flat...)

To be honest, for me they sounded like crap. Maybe I purchased a bad set ?

I use D'Addario and DR's, and run them for about 2 months before I cut them.

I try to change the strings on my two guitars in about a weeks time of each other because having brand new strings on one guitar makes the other sound like crap.

Now here are some more questions while we have this thread open.

Does anyone replace their strings with Fender's bullet strings?

How long do you use any brand of strings before you change them?

I actually like the Fender Bullets. As for changing? Depends on the weather and how much I'm playing at the time. I've had strings go in 2 weeks, and some in 2 months.

(Now, if those Fender bullets were available in an .011 to .052 set at my local music store...I'd probably pick up a set! But....the only set I saw was the Ernie Ball Super Slinkies in an .011 to .048, so I've been buying those...)

For my electrics-GHS Boomers-9-42-although I sometimes use Superbullets on my Mustang--but I can't always find them--and I can't find a gauge I used to be able to get--10-44.

For my classical--Augustine Reds
12 String--Adamas Phosphor Bronze lights--when I can find them--otherwise whatever Phosphor Bronze I can find that isn't a store brand.
Bass-Shortscale and not too heavy.

I stay away from store brands--my past experiences are they are real cheap and lose their sound way too quickly.

Guage 9s. I can bend them so much I can even bend them round my waist and still get them to resonate. Try it!

i thought the super bullets were supposed the be the "ultimate strings for a strat" because the funny looking ends work best with the trem block. nobody goes for this??

I really like Dean Markley's. They're great strings. I've used many different gauges through the years, but I like just medium ones right now.

I buy two sets of DR Blues strings at a time: a .11 set and a .10 set. I tried using a set of .11s for a while but they were too stiff on the lower strings, whereas .10s never felt right to me. So I put the .11 set on my top three strings and .10s on the lower strings.

I did however just buy a set of the GHS David Gilmour strings to try on my #1 CS Strat. One of my teachers is going to set the guitar up professionally and reset the bridge, put a mint green pickguard and aged pickup covers and knobs, and restring it with the new set. We'll see how it goes.

I also use John Pearce strings on my dobro and mandolin.
