I just changed to a heavier string gauge and now it seems that my bridge is lifted up a little (so the tremolosprings are pulled out more).

Is this normal?

Changing to a heavier string gauge will do that. Your guitar now needs a complete setup. If you don't know how to do that take it and have it done.

Read the fender manual if you have the patience. If you don't take it to a tech. I just don't like the thought of people touching my guitar. I'd rather muck with it myself.

Heaver string gauges =more string pull and tension to the trem, unless you detune.

Lighter string gauges do the opposite.

This is the price that has to be paid with a Fender trem if you don't adjust it. But adjusting it is easily done.

I bet your intonation and string heights are messed up too!

Yeah.

if I press the E-string on the 12th fret and tune it to E, then it seems too low when I play the E-string without pressing any frets...

I should adjust my bridge but I have a problem with the saddle for the E-string:
When I scew it tighter, it jumps back. Probably the screw thats flattened right?

Another question: If I set up my tremolo with 2 more springs, will it stay in tune better? (I dont use whammy bar at all)

To the best of my knowledge, yes.

Does anybody know the models having this type of tremolo (this one is built in my 1982 Strat)?

I should think that you could simply torque the trem claw screws a tad and bring her right back to where she was?

For me, I just add a spring and screw the tremelo down flat, it has worked fine for me with every strat I have owned.
