I tried to help you to get to the heart of the problem, but you seem to be so caught up in conflict and not caring what anyone else thinks that you don't even care about whats going on with your guitar anymore.

And now, after 2 days and 6 pages of conflict, your guitar is probably still rusting away...LOL

Have you tried the hygrometer yet?

Or anything that may get to the heart of the problem?

Or do you just come here to get into fights?

I think you mentioned at one point that you where going to clean the corrosion up yourself.

Then what?

Put it back in the case and let it corode again?

Ya can't fix something until you know what the problem is first.

Just sayin.

funny it is not i that keeps bringing the conflict up

i think we all agree this is not rust, but some other chemical reaction

like i have said i resigned to this guitar being a working guitar and not one to keep pristine, i will contact thomann about the pickup and i will clean up the frets myself or get my mate to do it.

i already stated i was not putting the guitar in the case again - but it seems this wont make any difference as it doesn't look like rust after all.

Let's play horse. I'll be the front end and you be yourself.

I've come across decomposed bodies that are less offensive than you are.

Please go away and take your foolishness elsewhere.
Thank you and have a nice day!

Mr Lonetrader kind sir-

I have a question for you. I know this is going to sound weird, but I think it hasnt been asked before. But before I do ask my friend, I come in peace.

So here's my question- is there anything 'in the air' that may affect the corrosion? For example, there is a town a few hundred kilometres from me that due to the many geysers & volcanic ground activity in the area, the air has a very high sulphur content that has given the town a reputaion for it's bad smell. There have been reports of local hotels nearest to the area where the smell comes from having to replace their televisions and radios due to the reaction the metals have internally.

So do you think that there could be anything at all that is affecting your pole pieces on the pick-up? a factory perhaps? something sure is making them corrode to that funny brown colour, it HAS to be something. :?:

that type of atmosphere accelerates corrosion enough to destroy tvs and radios?

there is no factories round about me, the only thing is i live right next to the sea. the only other thing i can think of is my dog letting off all the time
