i have already been into the guitar to change the spring tension of the tremelo, there is nothing wrong in there.

i'm not going to start to take my guitar to pieces to satisfy everyone elses curiosity

you are basically saying i am not able to tell if my guitar is in good condition or not and need help with this. believe that if you want, i tell you, the only prob with this guitar is the frets closest to the body and the humbucker.

if you choose not to believe me, fine, i couldn't care less.

all i wanted to know is if anyone has had the same problem as me - they have not. i agree this is not rust - people have had problems with rust and their fender guitars - i dont have this problem though.

so to sum, i'll contact thomann about the pick up, and i'm going to clean the frets myself.

don't apologise, i never asked anyone to solve my problem. all i wanted to know is if anyone else had this problem, that was answered eventually.

i bought the guitar and accepted the 10% discount, big mistake clearly.

"BTW dude chill out people are trying to help you. "

some people were, others were clearly trying to blame me for everything to clear fenders name - which i apparently tried to do - which was bs.

im chilled, i just say what i think, hate me if you must, it's irrelevent imo.

ps, no this was not a return, i had to wait for a new shipment, just after the re-stock date i recieved the guitar.

the swirls were a genuine problem at the time many people reported it, apparently it was under the clear coating so not able to be removed by polishing.

anyway that's what i've read, i cannot say this actually happened, god, now i have to write a disclaimer after every post

Why was taking a 10% discount a problem. I always get a discount and if theres a problem I take it back. Next time you change strings try scoth brite pad lightly it should clean it up.

I tried to help you to get to the heart of the problem, but you seem to be so caught up in conflict and not caring what anyone else thinks that you don't even care about whats going on with your guitar anymore.

And now, after 2 days and 6 pages of conflict, your guitar is probably still rusting away...LOL

Have you tried the hygrometer yet?

Or anything that may get to the heart of the problem?

Or do you just come here to get into fights?

I think you mentioned at one point that you where going to clean the corrosion up yourself.

Then what?

Put it back in the case and let it corode again?

Ya can't fix something until you know what the problem is first.

Just sayin.

funny it is not i that keeps bringing the conflict up

i think we all agree this is not rust, but some other chemical reaction

like i have said i resigned to this guitar being a working guitar and not one to keep pristine, i will contact thomann about the pickup and i will clean up the frets myself or get my mate to do it.

i already stated i was not putting the guitar in the case again - but it seems this wont make any difference as it doesn't look like rust after all.

So you're just going to leave the guitar unprotected out of the case because you don't feel like finding out what the problem is?

That doesn't make much sense, but hey... it's your guitar. I was just trying to help.

are the frets green? this happened to mine because there was poly sprayed over the frets and i didnt know at the time, but the frets are fine and the poly flaked off. that pickup though is strange mine just went black on a few poles where my hand was.

btw i dont hate you dude. unless you really are strat789

no one knows what it is, someone even told me it was because my studio was full of moisture

the chromework is pristine on this guitar, and the only pickup effected is the humbucker, as i have stated clearly, it must be due to the differing pole piece material.

the frets are a little green round the edges as well as discouloured, but i know that sometimes happens. its the roughness and disoulouration on the face of the frets that were annoying though.

i've just cleaned them up with a scotch pad though, however, the humbucker wont clean up.

No, in fact quite a few people here know exactly what it is. They're just finding you so obnoxiously rude across six absurd pages they can't be bothered trying to help you. Look at all the insults that have been thrown at those that have, after all.

...Honestly, most of us just walk past these sorts of thread, but it's about time you knew what so many here are saying privately. Till Brad looks in, anyhow.

So there you go: now you can direct some of your charming adjectives at me. It's becoming a sort of honor round here to be on the receiving end of your offensiveness. I want my turn: see what you can come up with.

so you're actually wanting me to be offensive to you?

i don't think you have any right to take the moral high ground :)

but, like i have said, i don't really care about the state of the guitar now, i was only being polite to certain people who took the time to actually help me rather than blame me for everything. the guitar is great and is getting well used, perhaps better this happend as if it wasn't so messed up I would have kept it locked away more.

but anyway, if you really want me to hurl abuse at people, then you'll have to try again, didn't work, sorry.

lol @ people who automatically think they are better morally than someone else but actually destroy their own morality in the very same post.

I don't know which thread is more hilarious: this one, or the one about the Photoshopped headstock decal being passed off as a "rare, one-off mistake" (that OP at least finally admitted it was all meant as a "joke"), or the one on the "Ask Mike Eldred" forum from the guy who bought a 3 year old used guitar sight unseen and claims it is not as it was advertised and wants Fender to correct "their errors" for free. Either April 1st came early this year or there is a full moon (somewhere) making people act all crazy.

lol really?

this guitar isn't even over the 10 month mark and i still wont complain to fender even if it was definity a manufacturing fault.

do you have the number for this guy? i have a few things he might be interested in buying - they will be unseen purchases obviously :P
