I just took possession of a beautiful mint purple[color=#000000[/color]2000 Jeff Beck Strat, and had to open it up to look inside and record all the info for posterity (and insurance). Could someone tell me why there are multiple dates? The neck is marked Sept 27 2000 and also Nov 01 2000, and the neck pocket has the following dates: July 19 2000
Oct 17 2000
Oct 27 2000

Why three dates in the body and two on the neck? One for manufacture, one for assembly, but the extra in the body is what...?

Simple, the parts are made on different days and can span months. So there really is no single birthdate for a guitar.

I doubt one of those neck dates is for assembly. More like when it was finished or inspected.
