Hi Ceri, I've tried the pups at all heights and I messed with them again after reading your post. I'm pretty sure I have them all set at their sweet spots.(at least by my ear). It's not bad, just when compared to the Am Standard, it seems as if something is holding it back.(if that makes any sense).

Hi again bshane: fair enough. Just a thought.

So the a pup swap it is! :)

Privately, I sometimes wonder whether people are changing their pickups for a good reason. In your case your reasoning is good! Be fascinated to see where your quest leads you. Be sure and let us know, please?

Good luck - C

Oh I will. Post as soon as I get'em swapped out. Not sure yet when it will be. I still undecided on what exactly I want to do with the neck. I'm gonna get bigger frets added to the neck and change the radius.(or possibly just get a new neck and keep the original put up somewhere). I'm curious to see how much the neck differences effect sustain and response with the same pups. Edit... I have a hunch that the vintage sized frets may be what's holding it back. I could be wrong though.
