hey martin i was just wondering who makes that les paul hollowbody that you have

that's an Xaviere XV-560, a pretty nice guitar. It had a wire that wasn't soldered when I got it but that was an easy fix other than that no problems. All it really needed was some new strings and the action adjusted. I'm real pleased with it.

Ought to just be left at that. Then if he does put up, we can get AlainLaFrance to come and take the piss out of his collection. (That's enough to make Charles Manson weep for mercy)

Theres a old saying in my part of the world. "Discretion is the better part of valour".
That old saying has been a good friend to me over the years and a few more people could do with implementing it.

Only Alain is WAYYYYYY too classy to get drawn into something like that.

Alain's collection is humbling, it may be big, but it is still very much quality over quantity.

I would be very wary of any gear that Jake posted because of the likelyhood that it was Photoshopped in from pix he cut out of mags.

Everyone always talks about me hating on ppls gear. Ok I just like to comment on this picture... I'm not hating, but this guy's room looks super clean. Maybe thats a complement, but I have gear laying everywhere. I take care of my stuff, but I Have cables all over the floor. I have stompboxes, guitar parts, speakers, old pickguards, tools for working on guitars all kinds of electronical stuff. Its basically a guitar shop in one little room. lol. I'm not a messy or thrashy person although I consider myself "grunge rock" and "punk". Idk how some ppl do it honestly. My grandmas like that I have a lot of good things not junk stuff btw. I have lots of money invested in the things I have. I'm a guitar horder and ppl that know me in real life are jelous of what I have and my super amazing guitar skills. I'm not bragging or anything I could be a better guitarist, but hatters gonna hate. -Peace

May we suggest therapy sessions in social interaction, Or perhaps reading the story of the boy who cried wolf..
Hip boots are definitely in order here.
Give it up kid, and allow yourself a modicum of dignity....

Wow ppl here are way too sensitive. Sorry, I wasn't "bashing" anyones gear. I just express my personal opinions on things. If it doesn't say "Fender" on the headstock I don't bother playing it!!! Fender Rocks and They make great guitars. If I had to choose one of that bunch I'd pick the red one. I find that red guitars seem to have more bass though. Peace

Here's my little guitar collection for you to critique. None of them are stock. Bet you can't guess what they even are. I'll give you a hint: three of them are red and one isn't.

What the hell does the cleanliness of my room have to do with anything? I'm 57 years old married, and a home owner. I quit living like a slob 40 years ago.

Boy, I'd hate to hear what you sound like when you are bragging.

I would say it shows you take care of your stuff.

Ask the guys who have toured, and i would bet you dollars to donuts they pretty much all keep their cables and gear pretty tidy. When you have to load and unload a van, and set up a stage you almost always form good habits with your gear.

Frankly, no offence, but It isn't anyones business of what I have and I'm not obligated to disclose anything unless I want to. I have tons of Fenders, mostly fenders. A Univox. And a Gib les P. I had a cheap guitar that was made like a telecaster(not saying the brand), but I sold it. The guy that currently has it said these exact words to me, "Man thats a sweet guitar I just plugged it in I was playing it and it sounds great." "I don't know why you got rid of it."..... I said, because I never played it. It is not a Fender. About the only Fender electric that I don't like is the Telecaster. Their thick and rounded instead of smooth and curvy and they remind me of the les paul that I have and I don't play. It is silverburst btw..... I was going to get a silverburst telecaster to match it when the silverburst teles came out. I prefer a really arrow dynamic guitar if you will. Something that "hugs" you when you play it.

ok so its nobodys business what you have, yet you go on to list what you have? you dont have any of those you mentioned. if you did you wouldnt be bothered about posting a picture.

The thread that keeps on giving! Ha!

Jake, may I ask, what is keeping you from proving that you own what you say you own? A simple pic of your gear would clear your name and re-install your dignity... maybe. I say it's time for a forum mug shot! Anyone remember these? Get your guitar to hold up a hand-written sign similar to this...
Image
That will clear up all the mess. Take it as a challenge...
But what you're doing now is not helping you... you know that, don't you? It's like me claiming I own a Ferrari, a Lamborghini (I was going to get it in silverburst when they came out in that colour), and that I have a nuclear powered submarine in my swimming pool...

"I wish you an interesting life!"

Hi Paris,Re the 50th Ann. Strat: I just love it,the action and neck were set up just perfect right from the box and the pickups are just delicious sounding. My only haggle is with the tone controls the rear tone control also affects the bridge pickup whereas I prefer the vintage set up for the tone controls with the bridge pickup unaffected by the controls.

I have the vintage set up on my '62 Strat copy.

I'm trying to remember, but I think that at 10 there's a detent and the circuit is taken out of the loop. I'll have to check it when I get home.

I agree with you about these guitars. Really feel that Fender did a great job. Mine is a beautiful 2-color sunburst. The wood was so well matched that I had trouble trying to find where they joined the wood together. Also aren't the pickups Custom Shop '54 pickups?

Also, as weird as this sounds I think they picked a perfect color for the case lining. When I put my Strat in that case it looks like royalty.

The only change I made to mine was that I added a period pick guard.

Out of curiosity what is the S/N of your Strat. I wonder how many are out there and what there S/N range might be. Mine is: Z3225433
