Hello people of the Fender Forum!

I currently own a 2007 Mexican Standard Strat and I love it!
BUT
I've modified the tuners(vintage kluson) and the pick-ups(lace sensor golds) and
I was told that replacing the alloy bridge block with an aftermarket bridge block would be one of the best modifications for tone!

I have two choices however. Steel or brass.
I read the descriptions on guitar fetish:
Steel: Piano like response(does that mean more percussive?)
Brass: Rich and warm bottom end(I think of John Mayer's tone when i hear that.)

I would like to get more clarity on these tone descriptions so I can play my guitar and listen to what I need before making the purchase.

Thanks in advance!

Whenever you listen to an all-original vintage Strat you're hearing a cold-rolled steel trem block. If you prefer those tones, there's your answer.

A search of this forum will reveal many threads on brass vs steel trem blocks with many different opinions. For the record, I have a steel GFS block.

Steel! If you want a brassy sound, get a Tele, or even a trumpet or trombone. IMO brass does not belong on a Strat.

Piano like response? Rich and warm bottom end? We're not talking about pianos or sandwiches, we're talking about guitars here.

Go steel. That's what Leo did, and I usually trust Mr. Fender when it comes to this kind of stuff. He was pretty good at it back in the day so I'm told.

Thanks for the responses guys!

I think I'm gonna go with steel. I too have complete trust in Leo Fender's decision!

Happy playing!
