Has anyone ever tried to find out who has the oldest Fender here? I think it'd be cool if I could get some of you to post pics of the oldest strat you own?

I'm a new Fender owner 2009 American Standard Sienna Burst and I was browsing the site looking at all of the cools pics.

Thanks.

Welcome to the board...but understand that significant value is involved with answering your question, so all might not respond due to possible liability issues.

There are several here with '54 Strats and some are in pristine condition. Not mine though, my oldest is a '54 LP TV model.

The oldest Strat (you did ask in the Stratocaster section of the Forums), a prototype, is found at:

http://sites.google.com/site/1953stratocaster/

The owner of it will pop in from time to time.

The oldest Fender would be a Tele (or possibly a lap steel from before the Tele days) ... check out the Tele section of the Forum.

Matt3310, Is the helmet for protection from falling walls of amplifiers. Seems like a good idea. A little more than impressive I'd say.
So in reading the online story about the first Strat prototype, I gather there might still be that Tele out there with the prototypes' neck on it. Good reason to keep your eyes open at garage sales!
