I just bought a MIM strat. Its a standard HSS. With the HSS setup I can crank out some cool country solos and with a flip of the switch play some blues. It's got great action but goes out of tune reallly easy. When I use the temelo bar it seems to knock it out of tune every time. I adjusted the intonation and bridge spring tension. Is this common for a floating bridge? Will this go away as the guitar and strings break in or am I just in for a lot of re-tuning

There could be any one or two of a number of things causing your problems such as :
1.Too many string winds around the tuning pegs-the fewer the better-2 or at the very most 3 would be plenty.
2.Strings binding on bridge, nut slots,or string Ts.Lubricate the areas where the strings come in contact with the guitar with graphite(a pencil lead works fine)or some commercially available lube like Big Bends Nut Sauce.
3.String slots in nut too narrow and pinching the strings tight.Recut or file the nut slots(only if you really know how)or have a tech do it.
4.Strings not pre-stretched enough prior to final tuning.Always change strings one at a time and tune each string up to pitch and pinch between your fingers and pull it away from the fretboard.Keep doing this until the string holds it's tuning after a good stretch.
5.Too few springs or not enough tension on bridge claws.Fine tune the tension carefully.

These are just a few things that may be causing your problems.I always have my bridge decked or non-floating as I never use the pull back function, prefering to use the dive feature only and I use above the nut bends if I want a note to go sharp. This will help cure your tuning problems greatly as a decked bridge is more stable.
