OK, I just hauled myself down to the ME forum to check it out.

I see; a blue 'burst. Fair enough, that's non-standard-spec so I guess it goes up the ladder. If the head of the CS says this is how it's to be done - you don't get a more definitive answer than that!

Still fenderflamestrat, just be aware that if the cost of a Masterbuilt Strat is making your eyes pop out there are other routes to getting nice finishes at more survivable prices. Let us know and we can point you in other directions if it would help.

Long past my bedtime on my bit of the planet.

G'night all - C

I really want a Navy Blue Metallic burst into Arctic White into Black. I want Gold hardware and like a H-S-S setup.

The only masterbuilt thing I think would be the three tone burst.

Thank You Ceri!

No sweat!

It's an unusual finish to be sure. But everything can be done, if not by one route then by another. We'll talk some more tomorrow. Must sleep!

Over and out - C

You need to look into building what you want. Find someone who can paint it for you. You'll have something to be proud of.

As much as I would love to start a build, I don't have the space/tools/skills required to build. I am very young too.

I would, but I think half the fun would be to see that Custom Shop logo when I go to pick up that guitar. Somewhat like a badge of honor.

Technically 18 months. Really only been playing at skill for about 6 months. Got my first Fender this Christmas. Everyone thinks I'm good but I know people who are better. Yes, I do have alot of time, but I want to know how much I should save 8)

I'm not being sarcastic here but a real badge of honor would be being able to pick up a $250 Squier and blow the doors off some guy with a $3500 Les Paul-it's not so much what guitar you play but how you play it.Where you are only 13 there will be loads of time to treat yourself to an uber-expensive guitar but at that age your main priority should be how to be the best possible player with the minimum of gear.BTW look at $3000+ at least for your dream guitar.

I was expecting at least that much. I practically have a Custom Shop without it being an actual custom shop
Custom Factory Flames
Matching Headstock
Possibly Texas Specials

BTW my dream guitar is actually the Cracked Mirror Washburn PS1800 Paul Stanley Signature guitar.

As a master Built, I believe that you will be looking at anywhere from $3,500 to $5,000 just because of it being a Master built.
Correct me someone if I'm wrong, but I suspect that once you spec out for the particular finish that you would like, the rest of the guitar will also be built as a Master Built.
If you are truly going this route, then my advice would be to find out what you can have done for under $5,000 and then see if there are other specs which would not be xtra.

I'm not going to say you should not because you are too young or it is too expensive for you or you have not been playing long enough.
If you can save up for it fairly quickly then it is between you and perhaps your folks if they are part of either the decision or part of the funding.

But there was good advice being submitted in previous posts. Actually this is the way this forum functions best.
You or any one for that matter poses a question, then often the response is not only an answer to the question but also an alternative to the original question, this is even better because now the question can be evaluated in an entirely different manner.
Often times this results in the same end result but the process/method may be much easier to accomplish.
At the very least, stay objective to suggestions.

Practice what you preach is my opinion! Picking on 13-year old's skills of written English is not exactly worth a medal of honour, either.

To be honest this "correction mania" makes me nervous. The internet is not a place for censorship, and as long as post is readable and understandable, I see no reason whatsoever to go around criticising other people's posts for correctness of spelling. There are also quite a few people in this world who simply suffer from dyslexia and have to battle this every day, I think a bit more tolerance is in order.

fenderflamestrat: Do as Ceri says and pay them no heed. ;)

Cheers,

Nutter

Out of curiosity Fenderflamestrat, I'm wondering as to what you are doing to save up for a Custom Shop :?: ( you do not have to answer, it is just rhetorical )
At 13 I certainly did not have the capabilities to do anything of the sort.
My hat is off to you ( to use an old phrase 8)
If we can provide ideas or advice let us know.....

Oh and BTW you would have had a good laugh at my english when I was 12-13 coming from Europe...Many a silly prank(s) were pulled on me by my classmates
