i have seen some new usa fender standard strats on ebay some times they have u s in front of the serial number but some of them don't i was bidding on one it don't have us in front of serial i got to worrying about that. it say's serial number 10032402

They originally didn't have the US prefix. It was added later. If the seller is reputable, you shouldn't have a problem. Know who your buying from........... 8)

I believe the plain "10" numbers were used on USA guitars up intil say April or so of last year (of course Fender used up the "Z9" numbers before changing to the "10" numbers early in the year); I recall first seeing the "US10" numbers in fairly early May. I just spotted a "US11" number on an American Deluxe Strat last week; it was the first one I had seen with the "US11" this year.

i have a z9 and a us10 now and they both play great no matter what number they are. lol
