I wouldn't rely on that site though. Many fakes have serial numbers that come up as legit and some legit guitars serials aren't recognized. You'd be better off email Fender Customer support, but they only have records that go back to about 93/94 or so

Do what you just did...ask the forum...and pics alway help too...if Fender can't help you or doesn't have records that far back as Yogi said then someone on the forum can almost always help.
