Whoever shot that video re-enforces the notion that an awful lot of people lead miserably mundane lives.

Imagine... Clapton does laundry  ...does he get dressed in the morning with a snap of his fingers :?: :?:  or is it that he is just another human being who has given us a vast amount of enjoyable music over a few decades.

Have some dignity and self respect to at least respect other people's private lives.

Sorry... but I find Hollywood and the celebrity fiasco as a pointless exercise in idiocy...

Who needs this kind of agitation while doing their laundry?
How would Clapton ever deter a gent from filming him.
That fellow should have been wrung-out to dry.

I'm sure glad God wasn't ironing while waiting for his clothes to dry. Might have made front page news...oy.

Well, at least the guy stayed a respectable distance from Clapton and didn't try to get in his face. The fact of the matter is, any time a celebrity goes out in public, they risk this sort of thing happening. Clapton handled it correctly by just ignoring the guy instead of the way some well known celebrities have responded to this sort of thing. Can you imagine the headlines if things had gone differently? Cheers to Eric, jeers to TMZ.

We all assume that is actually Clapton, there isnt a clear face shot distinguishing him at all... The guy was probably hassling someone who looked like him.

I find it hard to believe he would be at a hotel that cant do his laundry, or he wouldnt have a washing machine at home.

Isn’t it interesting that a celebrity works hard all their life to become well known, then wears dark glasses to avoid being recognized.

I don't know.

Go full screen on the video. But before you hit play, look at the closeup of the face that appears. Sure looks like Clapton. If it wasn't Clapton, why did the guy look up when his name was called out? No one else looked at the camera. Also, if it wasn't Clapton, I would think the guy would deny being him. Instead, he just ignores the camera.

Of course, it could all be a hoax, but why? What is the point in creating something like this? There is no information on the TMZ site as to where and when the video was made. Personally, I can't think of any reason that Clapton would be doing his own laundry in a laundramat. Shopping? Yeah. Celebrities don't always go out with an entourage. Heck, I ran into Newt Gingrich several years ago shopping in JC Penny. I forget which section he was in, but he was all by himself. Couldn't help but recognize that head of hair.

For attention and gratification- the same reason why people post fake UFO sightings on youtube I guess.

Yeah I went over it a few times- he looked up. Put it this way, if you were in that laundromat and some nutter busted in with a camera and said "Justin Bieber!!" anyone would look up- even I would.

But no-one else around him even took much notice of his presence, they looked and went about their business too casually (lots of people dont know him too well, but know enough about him as a guitar player and ask for a photo or an autograph) which suggests to me that this guy who looks similar to him, was just trying to ignore and not encourage the loser with the camera who had his wires crossed.. I could certainly imagine what he was thinking. I bet anyone has had someone mistake you for someone else in public, is rather awkward yet embarrasing.

If he went straight up to him, with a clear face shot with distinguishing features & struck a conversation, then I'd believe it. Eric seems the type that would atleast say 'hello'. Otherwise, it couldve been one of the many billions of people on this earth.. :?:

He's got Clapton's shoes.

He's wearing exactly the same type of clothes he wears on stage. I like that in a guitar hero! :D

...This thread has now taken on a fascinating life of its own. It just amazes me that anyone's having trouble believing Clapton does "normal person" stuff. I've seen him around town driving his own car. Wow, Clapton drives - can it be real? Perhaps I saw a look-alike...

Eric Clapton, multi-millionaire life-long superstar does his laundry: that's a real man. Sad turnip-brain loser can't leave him alone and has to film the event: that's a real twonk.

Cheers - C

Clapton does laundry big deal. Who doesn't? They ought to beat the guy who bothered him.

Ron Howard flies coach. I know because I saw him do it on the way to the 2008 Iowa primarys in Des Moines. Yet I had enough sense not to video or bother him and almost his entire family. Though I did have an overwhelming urge (that I fought successfully) to whistle the theme to the Andy Griffith show and sing the Happy Days theme.

I saw Montel Williams walking in JFK airport in New York and I left him alone. Celebrity sightings are cool when you see them first hand, but they are still just regular people. Be polite, if you have to bother them for an autograph or a picture then leave them ALONE.
